Down East Chapter: Landowner 101

About this event

Maine Forest Service, in partnership with Maine Woodland Owners and Maine Tree Farm, will be hosting a five-day Landowner 101 course from Monday November 16 through Thursday, November 20, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM in Bucksport. This program will cover topics and information to help guide woodland stewards through the sustainable management of their forest.

Participants will hear from various natural resources professionals and organizations discussing basic concepts on woodland management. Whether the reason for owning the land is for aesthetics, firewood, recreation, wildlife, maintaining health, diversity, or forest products, participants will walk away with relevant knowledge and advice.

Maine Forest Service District Foresters Steve McDonald and Allyssa Gregory will lead the sessions. This program is part of RSU 25 Adult and Community Education and will be held at the Bucksport High School, 102 Broadway in Bucksport. A field day will follow at a later date.
