- ➤ Residents can access warming centers across the region; Bangor’s Mansion and Brick Churches shelter visitors daily from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. (Brick hosts a supper at 4), Rockland’s Flanagan Center serves Thursday and Friday evenings, and Augusta’s South Parish Church is open daily from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. WABI 5

- ➤ Baked by Joy now offers new holiday cookie treats after its move to The Not So Empty Nest two months ago. The shop, open Thursdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., features boxes of cookies and a special Holiday Cookie Cake with flavors (including Yema Creme Brule) that blend local and Filipino tastes. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Bangor Rotary Club will host the annual Festival of Lights Parade tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 6 at 4:30 p.m. starting at State/Exchange Streets—participants will follow a route along State, Main, and Water Streets to Water/Washington Streets while competing for trophies in seven categories under this year’s 'Unite for Good' theme. - ➤ Penobscot Theatre Company announced an upcoming production of 'Cinderella' set to be staged at its downtown venue later this month. Local audiences will soon have the chance to experience this fresh retelling of the classic fairy tale. WABI 5
- ➤ The Bangor Symphony Youth Orchestra will perform its fall concert on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 5:00 p.m. at Bangor High School Auditorium (a $5 donation and cereal drive will support the Bangor YMCA Food Pantry). WABI 5

- ➤ The Maine Office of Cannabis Policy has issued a third recall for NorCo products after tests found unsafe mold+contamination in five strains sold as flower and pre-rolls, which were available at 22 stores across Maine between Oct. 15 and Dec. 2. WABI 5
- ➤ The Maine CDC reported another HIV case detected in Penobscot County, raising the outbreak total to 31; nearly all cases have been linked to injection drug use + homelessness, and testing and prevention efforts continue with support from local groups and federal agencies. Bangor Daily News

- ➤ Portland High School quarterback Cordell Jones signed his national letter of intent to play for the Black Bears next season despite a separated shoulder from Turkey Bowl; he is expected to return (in five to six weeks) to help lead Maine’s bid for a CAA championship. Bangor Daily News
