- ➤ The CPKC Holiday Train is stopping in Hermon at 1:30 p.m., in Greenville at 6:15 p.m., and in Jackman at 8:45 p.m. today to raise funds for food pantries by accepting non-perishable items or cash donations. Neighbors Supporting Neighbors Community Pantry will receive items in Hermon — those who cannot attend may support the Hermon High School Key Club food drive at Danforth’s on Sunday or donate via Venmo. - ➤ Today, the Maine Department of Agriculture and Maine Ending Hunger Corps launched the Maine Food Access Map that helps Mainers locate food pantries, SNAP vendors and community meal sites—each listing shows operating hours and a contact number so people can plan their visits. News Center Maine
- ➤ Rubble, a purebred black lab, is available for adoption at The Maine Dog Rescue — an organization that supports fosters, volunteers and adopters to save dogs in need. WABI 5

- ➤ Mack’s Restaurant and Tavern in Brewer will close on Sunday after owner Corey Bedard said fewer customers and a denied event license made it hard to keep open. The restaurant will be sold to its previous owner and Bedard plans to start a new business later. Bangor Daily News

- ➤ On November 16th, the Bangor Symphony Orchestra performed Wynton Marsalis’ Violin Concerto with guest soloist Kelly Hall-Tompkins at the Collins Center for the Arts in Orono. Music Director Lucas Richman led a program of classical and jazz pieces (including Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No.8) that celebrated both urban vigor and rural charm. Bangor Daily News

- ➤ The Dexter and Guilford school districts applied for state funding to build a new regional high school that will merge academics, career training and college courses for 28 communities—this effort aims to consolidate current schools and offer local career and technical programs. The initial application was submitted last month and, if approved, planning will take up to 10 years before the new school opens. Bangor Daily News

- ➤ A group of Maine health care organizations said Friday that vaccines do not cause autism because decades of research show they are safe—after the CDC changed its vaccine safety webpage to question the long-held scientific claim.
