  • Maine Veterans Project in Bangor saw its highest need for food and heating help as uncertainty over SNAP benefits during the government shutdown led more veterans to seek support. The nonprofit now needs donations—like Hannaford gift cards—to meet the increased demand.  News Center Maine

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Veteran-owned Benjamin’s Brewer will open mid-January on Acme Road in Brewer—its theme honors veterans and first responders and it will offer homemade brews and a big outdoor beer garden—and is the result of a five-year project by Richard and Mandy Clark, who sold their old Benjamin’s Restaurant & Pub at the end of last year.  WABI 5
