- ➤ Milton Bradley (a board game pioneer) was born in Vienna, Maine on Nov. 8. His birthday is remembered as an important milestone in board game history. WABI 5
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Orono boys soccer team lost 1-0 to Hall-Dale in the Class C championship match on Saturday—Hall-Dale scored the winning goal in the second overtime. Coach David Hamel said the team, which finished 16-1-1, is proud of its strong run and will use the loss to build on its promising future. Bangor Daily News
- ➤ The Penobscot Valley Howlers won their third straight Class D state championship—defeating Ashland 2 to 0 on Saturday at Hermon High School’s Pottle Field. Bangor Daily News
- ➤ The UMaine Black Bears won their sixth straight game by defeating Hampton University in Virginia on Saturday, which keeps their playoff hopes alive for a Coastal Athletic Association championship. They will host Rhode Island next Saturday at 1 p.m. Bangor Daily News
