HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Eastern Area Agency on Aging is expanding nutrition assistance for adults age 60 or older and for adults with disabilities on SNAP. Grab-and-Go Frozen Meal sites will operate at locations in Brewer, Calais, Millinocket, Milo and Sullivan from November 10 through November 13—services designed to address needs during the federal government shutdown. - ➤ MaineHealth apologized after a computer glitch on Oct. 20 sent 521 death notices to living patients; the error was fixed and apology letters were mailed to everyone affected. The healthcare network said patient care was not compromised and medical records remain unchanged. FOX Bangor
- ➤ Northern Light Health and Anthem signed a contract on November 5 that keeps care in Anthem's network so patients who received services since November 1 will not face extra charges—ending months of uncertainty for over 30,000 Mainers. The Piscataquis Observer
