- ➤ Three Waldo County groups joined forces on Saturday — including the VFW, sheriff’s office and police — to host the 'Stuff the Cruiser' food drive outside Belfast Hannaford that collected food and cash donations to support local families and veterans amid uncertain SNAP benefits. - ➤ The University of Maine hockey team swept Boston University by winning 8-5 on Saturday night at Alfond Arena — following a 5-4 overtime win on Friday to complete the series, with UMaine now at 5-2-1 and BU at 3-5-1. Bangor Daily News
- ➤ Dexter football senior Bryce Cooper scored five rushing touchdowns and threw a key block — his best play — that helped secure a 38-34 playoff win over Orono on Friday night, and coach Andrew Levensalor praised his all-around effort. Bangor Daily News
- ➤ The University of Maine football team beat Stony Brook on Saturday at Morse Field—earning their first five-game win streak since 2018 and raising their record to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in the Coastal Athletic Association. - ➤ Gerry Bassett of Warren finished a rare big game grand slam this October by hunting a moose, bear, turkey and deer over six days from Oct. 13 to Oct. 18—he had waited more than 10 years for a permit.
