Susan Collins gathered on Friday for the groundbreaking of the new Cathy Gero Bangor Region YMCA on Main Street near Davis Court and Talbot Park — an 82,000 square-foot facility costing $57.8 million that will open in spring with two pools, a gym, an indoor track, a fitness center and infant care starting at six months.
