- ➤ Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union is taking food donations to help local backpack programs until Nov. 7—each donation earns one guess entry for a candy jar and a $25 Amazon gift card, with the closest guess winning—making a local effort to support families. The Piscataquis Observer
- ➤ Make-A-Wish Maine celebrated its 2,000th wish when it sent off Kiley Barron, an 18-year-old from Winslow living with a rare metabolic disorder, Tuesday morning at Bangor International Airport—her wish is to visit Disney World with her family in the near future. The organization said it gives Maine children with critical illnesses joy and eases families from planning and cost concerns. WABI 5

- ➤ Some Theatre Company will stage The Addams Family at Bangor Mall from October 9—19, and the show is presented entirely in greyscale to echo the eerie charm of the 1960s TV series. WABI 5
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting Monday, Bangor will restore full bus service on Hammond Street and Center Street routes next week with buses running every 30 minutes instead of once an hour after cutbacks from a driver shortage—free driver training and a new fixed-stop system via the Community Connector will help address the issue.
