GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Officials cleared an encampment at Bangor's Davenport Park after unsanitary conditions, drug use, and outstanding warrants were noted—many of those present were from outside Bangor. HEALTH NEWS

  • Manchester Care Center will close permanently on October 31st, ending therapy and lab services, and Aurora Healthcare will close on December 1st while continuing patient visits through November. Meanwhile, Northern Light Health closed its Walk-In Care on Union Street in Bangor—part of a 3% workforce reduction.  WABI 5
  • On Wednesday, Northern Light Health announced it will cut its workforce by 3 percent by eliminating 308 positions as it faces ongoing financial problems. The cuts mostly came from retirements and not refilling vacancies — and the system will close its walk-in care clinic at Eastern Maine Medical Center, limiting patient options.  WGAN
