  • Bass Park After Dark returns this coming Saturday at the Cross Insurance Center in Lot C from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The free event features an artisan market, food trucks, a beer garden — and live music with free parking available.  FOX Bangor
  • Friends of Community Fitness received a $2,000 grant from Bangor Savings Bank Foundation to support its 2025 Fall Foliage Tour—this future trip will start Sept. 25 at 9:30 a.m. from 31 High St. in Guilford and visit Quill Hill with a meal provided by Maine Coffee & Mercantile.  The Piscataquis Observer

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A federal report said the pilot tried to correct his plane before it crashed at Bangor International Airport on Aug. 22—Luigi Accusani, 74, flew a Cessna A185F and was the only one on board.  Bangor Daily News

  • Candice Simeoni, Maine’s first statewide elder justice investigator, is tackling crimes against seniors by collecting data, developing a reporting tool, and training police in a pilot program that runs until September 2026—she assisted with seven cases in her first week.  News Center Maine
  • A 24-year-old Mississippi man named Trai Moore fired his handgun while driving through Bangor's old Capehart area early this morning and was taken into custody at a motel on Odlin Road—he faces charges including reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and other offenses.  WGAN
  • Trai Moore, 24, from Mississippi allegedly fired a gun while driving through old Capehart in Bangor early Monday—officers tracked him to a motel on Odlin Road where he refused to exit his car during a brief standoff before taking him into custody and charging him with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, criminal threatening, criminal restraint, and resisting and disorderly conduct.  Bangor Daily News

HEALTH NEWS

  • A public dispute between one of Maine's largest health care providers and a major insurer has left tens of thousands of patients in limbo as a Sept 30 contract deadline approaches—Northern Light began mediation with Anthem in a last-ditch effort to keep its services in network. Patients with private plans will lose in-network coverage on Oct 1 while Medicare Advantage remains covered through year-end.  The Piscataquis Observer
