  • Husson University welcomed the new Class of 2029 on Saturday as roughly 900 students began their college journey with the help of hundreds of families and volunteers—university president Lynne Coy-Ogan said she is excited for new majors like conservation law and animal care as the Fall semester starts Tuesday.  FOX Bangor

  • Rep. Pingree has asked border officials to investigate complaints by a Wabanaki elder who said his fiancee was mistreated—allegedly handcuffed and stripped of personal items—at the Houlton and Calais border crossings earlier this month.   • Maine and more than 20 states will keep AmeriCorps funding after a federal lawsuit forced the White House Office of Management and Budget to release $184 million—Attorney General Aaron Frey said on Friday.  WABI 5

  • A week-long fishing trip at Igloo Lake Lodge gave local fishers a chance to catch huge brook trout and a record 40-inch northern pike — some fish weighing over 10 pounds.
