Great white sharks have been seen more often off the Maine coast as local fisherman Rick Clough spotted an 8-foot shark near Scarborough in July and drone footage captured a 12-foot shark; scientists say the rise is due to a growing seal population—boosted by conservation laws—and caution beachgoers to be alert.
