ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Peter Williams, 66, of Searsmont died in a head-on crash with a tractor trailer on Route 69 in Newburgh on Wednesday afternoon—video showed he crossed into the truck’s path and his dog died at the scene while the truck struck a garage—and the driver was assessed for injuries without being taken to the hospital.  WABI 5
  • On Friday, a single-engine plane crashed outside Bangor International Airport’s fence—killing one person and marking the airport’s first fatal crash—with the runway closed until it reopened before 4:30 p.m.  Bangor Daily News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Northern Light Health has signed a new insurance deal with Community Health Options that will cover its 1,000 providers at nine hospitals and over 127 locations across Maine and will start Jan. 1, 2026—aimed at lowering costs and easing care access for members in rural areas.  WABI 5
