Today, e-bikes are becoming a common way to get around Bangor on both city streets and rural trails.

Local shop Slipping Gears and police say sales are up and thefts are reported — bike prices range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars — while safety tips remind riders to wear helmets and lock their bikes.

Emergency crews responded to a crash in Newburgh that involved a tractor-trailer truck and a car just before noon on Route 69 (Carmel Rd. North) Wednesday, and the road was closed from Dysart’s Newburgh Travel Stop to Western Ave (Route 202) as officials investigated the scene.

Brewer High School will induct five players, one coach and two teams into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Sept 13 at the Brewer Community School Performing Arts Center.
