- ➤ The North Brewer-Eddington United Methodist Church in Eddington will host a cookout and gospel concert on Monday, August 11th. Dinner featuring Jamaican jerk pork with sides will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be followed by a performance by Ernie Couch & Revival at 7 p.m. FOX Bangor
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Deputies searched two Charleston homes using warrants—first at Boston Road then at Puddledock Road—and arrested Jessica Smock, 43, and Lou-Ann Smock, 66, after seizing over a kilogram of drugs, guns, cash and suspected fentanyl. The Piscataquis Observer

- ➤ Robert Roy’s trail camera in Orland recorded a 1.4-magnitude earthquake near North Penobscot at 10:12 p.m. Thursday—about 4 miles from the epicenter at a depth of 7.2 miles, marking one of over 150 quakes recorded in Maine since 1997. Bangor Daily News

- ➤ Maine joined a nationwide task force to crack down on illegal robocalls when Attorney General Aaron Frey and 50 state attorneys general sent warning letters to 37 voice providers for not following FCC rules— the FCC also announced it would remove seven providers from its Robocall Mitigation Database.
