Four hikers stranded on Katahdin’s Knife Edge on July 24 have been rescued from Baxter State Park—rangers texted them overnight and later used a Blackhawk helicopter to airlift the injured hiker.

Ike Hubbard, an 83-year-old artisan, has spent 35 years making hand-crafted blueberry rakes in his Jonesport shop to help farmers harvest wild blueberries without damaging the fruit.

His rakes are sold across the country and he even repairs broken ones for free — a tradition that supports small growers and preserves local harvesting methods.
