- ➤ Retired Hope fire chief Clarence Keller had his old Maine firefighter license plate show up in Austria a few days after his retirement party—an unexpected twist that sparked online interest. The plate was donated to a local restoration shop and was found by an Austrian tourist who plans to return it during a visit next year. Bangor Daily News

- ➤ Seven people have been charged in a multimillion-dollar case of illegal marijuana growing, human trafficking and money laundering—six were arrested while one remains at large as authorities say the operation used grow houses and properties in Maine and Massachusetts. The Piscataquis Observer
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ St. Joseph Hospital said that an unauthorized party accessed its computer system on May 18 and may have taken names, addresses, dates of birth, and other health details. The hospital notified affected patients by mail on May 26 and is offering credit monitoring—help is available when patients call the toll-free hotline. WABI 5
- ➤ Northern Light Primary Care in Dover-Foxcroft welcomed Brittany Hackett, PA-C, after she worked in hospitals in Southern Maine. Hackett brings experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, and inpatient psychiatry — and she is now accepting new patients. The Piscataquis Observer
