  • Designs by Aaron moved its store from downtown Bangor to Brewer on Tuesday after 10 years in Bangor because the current space did not have enough parking. Owner Aaron James said the new location in Hannaford plaza at 383 Wilson St. has been fully renovated to improve customer access, though many still call the old location out of habit.  Bangor Daily News

CRIME NEWS

  • A Bangor man allegedly assaulted his pregnant wife at a Brewer motel when she called police at about 4:28 p.m. on Thursday—officers later tracked Edward Malone, 54, to Hampden and arrested him around 7:34 p.m. after he left before they arrived.  Bangor Daily News

  • Angelina Jackman from Living Innovations in Caribou explains that direct support professionals help those with special needs and behavioral health challenges live more independent lives—she warns that funding cuts leave families in rural areas without vital care.   • Maine native Cooper Flagg made his pro debut for the Dallas Mavericks in a summer league game against the Los Angeles Lakers last Thursday night in Las Vegas, finishing with 10 points, six rebounds, four assists, three steals and a key block that helped secure an 87-85 win. He said he was nervous at first but appreciated the support from his coaches and teammates as he adjusted from college to pro play.  News Center Maine
