Good Shepherd Food Bank will sponsor three summer lunch sites where children in Bangor and Brewer get free nutritious meals.

Meals are offered at the Brewer Housing Authority Pavilion on weekdays from June 23 to Aug 21, at the Rock Church in Bangor from June 23 to 26, and at Fairmount School in Bangor from June 30 to Aug 8 — all available to children under 18.

UMaine co-developed an online hazing deaths database with HazingInfo.org – the University of Washington and journalist Hank Nuwer helped the project – which shows an average of five college hazing deaths per year since 2000 and lists 122 deaths recorded since then.

The database, which goes back to 1838, is meant to honor the victims and guide efforts to prevent future hazing.
