  • A man aged 50 in Corinna fled his home on Moody Mills Road after a firearm discharged during an altercation and later turned himself in, facing charges for domestic violence criminal terrorizing & domestic violence reckless conduct.  WABI 5
  • A man from Corinna turned himself in after a gun was fired during a domestic dispute on Moody Mills Road Sunday evening—Jeremy Eldridge now faces charges of domestic violence criminal threatening and domestic violence reckless conduct, and no injuries were reported.  News Center Maine

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Millions in federal funding for the University of Maine system have been paused—jeopardizing key services like Maine AgrAbility that support farmers, fishermen, and loggers, and the university has canceled upcoming trainings and services. Officials say they are working to restore funding while continuing to honor financial offers to graduate students.  FOX Bangor

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bangor has launched an investigation into Councilor Joe Leonard's claims that Finance Director David Little misallocated city funds and lied during a May 7 budget workshop— local firm Rudman Winchell will review the case over at least six weeks. The dispute led to Little submitting his resignation, effective in July, after a contentious public meeting that raised concerns about legal risks for the city.  Bangor Daily News

  • On May 27, the Northern Maine Moose boys lacrosse team came from behind to win 9-6 against Bangor High School Rams while goalie Carter Smith made key saves, and they lost 13-6 at home to Camden Hills Regional High School on May 28.
