ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On May 28, a 74-year-old hiker was rescued from Borestone Mountain around 11 a.m. after falling 15 feet onto rocks and then 10 feet while reaching for a water bottle—fellow hikers and first responders provided aid before the Maine Forest Service airlifted him to a trauma center where he is in stable condition.  The Piscataquis Observer

  • Log Jam Vintage opened on Friday at 2 p.m. at 8 Harlow St.—this new store was started by Jeremy Richardson and Miriam Davidson to help fund the preservation of a nearly 200 year old lighthouse on Mistake Island. CRIME NEWS

  • James Valiante, 43, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Stacey D. Neumann to three years in prison and three years of supervised release for trafficking meth and fentanyl in a drug ring operating in Penobscot and Aroostook counties—one of 20 people sentenced in the investigation with two defendants awaiting sentencing.  Bangor Daily News
