- ➤ State Rep. Kenneth Fredette said people deserve answers over the Newport District Courthouse closure due to mold + residents have been forced to drive to Bangor for court business. - ➤ On May 28, nearly 100 community organizations met at the Hall of Flags to urge lawmakers to restore the Cost of Living Adjustments for Direct Care Service Rates after the state's budget suspended them for two years—warning that without COLAs, providers would struggle to retain workers and lose $137 million in federal match funds.
