- ➤ The search for missing fisherman Alton Wallace has continued today as the Down East community gathers over 100 volunteers — with dozens of boats — around Milbridge after Wallace went missing last Sunday near Narraguagus Bay. Authorities located his undamaged skiff near Pinkham Island and are using commercial drone operators and seaplanes to expand the search in hopes of bringing his family closure. FOX Bangor
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ ACLU of Maine filed a habeas corpus petition to free Eyidi Ambila, a 44-year-old Maine resident held in ICE custody at Cumberland County Jail since late September, alleging that his indefinite detention violates his due process rights. The group said Ambila, who has lived in the state since age 7 and is effectively stateless because his birth records are missing, remains in detention—ICE has not yet responded. News Center Maine
- ➤ Maine lawmakers are clashing with state judicial officials over a bill amendment that would set up a legislative study group to review the ethics process for judges after complaints were filed against Justice Catherine Connors. The legislative committee advanced the measure by a 10 to 3 vote despite chief justice Valerie Stanfill warning that the change would breach the state constitution. Bangor Daily News
