  • The 14th annual 'Miles for Mills' Memorial Day Weekend 5K Walk/Run and 10K Run will start at 9 a.m. tomorrow at Brunswick Landing to raise funds for the Travis Mills Foundation supporting post-9/11 veterans—over 1,200 people have already signed up.  News Center Maine
  • Pro wrestlers will entertain fans on June 7th at 6:00 p.m. at the Anah Shriners Building at 1404 Broadway Street to benefit the Maine Veterans Project — ringside tickets cost $40 and general admission is $20 — in a fundraising event for veterans.  WABI 5

  • Crypto ATMs are seen in local stores and mimic regular ATMs but do not have FDIC insurance—fraud losses jumped nearly tenfold nationwide as criminals stole large sums from Mainers. AARP Maine is asking lawmakers to pass crypto ATM scam prevention bill LD 1339, and legislators will review the bill soon to protect residents.  The County

  • Bangor Fire Chief Geoff Low said during Mental Health Awareness Month that his department is planning a new mental health program for firefighters—developed with HR and the union—after several critical incidents.  WABI 5

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Buyer demand spurred an 11% rise in Maine home sales in April, with 942 homes closing—down 0.7% from last April—and the median price climbing over 4% to $400,000. Listing activity grew 19%, adding nearly 600 homes to the market, according to the Maine Association of Realtors.  Bangor Daily News
