- ➤ Downtown Bangor business owners were upset when unexpected road work began on Wednesday morning, closing parts of Main, Hammond, State, Water and Franklin streets and causing vehicles to be towed. - ➤ A nearly $12M SAD 41 school budget for Milo-area schools was approved Monday at Penquis Valley School and will be put to a vote on Tuesday, June 10 in Brownville, LaGrange and Milo—its 5.95 percent rise means more local funding is needed. The Piscataquis Observer
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bangor Public Works is partnering with University of Maine forestry students to plan a response to the emerald ash borer that may soon affect local trees—using chemical injections on 250 ash trees and scheduling the removal of over 430 hazardous ones while enforcing ash quarantine zones.
