- ➤ MaineHealth is studying why some early Lyme patients do not fully recover after treatment as warming winters allow ticks to spread in nearly all counties, which raises the risk for diseases like Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis + Powassan virus. They warned that the change will force local women to travel farther for prenatal care — over 1,000 petition signatures back their concerns. WABI 5
- ➤ Together Place, a Bangor recovery nonprofit, lost state funding for its Peer Run Recovery Center for the first time since 2016—losing about $300,000—and plans to apply for opioid settlement funds, new grants and community donations while appealing the state decision. The organization, which serves 300 to 500 people monthly, said it will maintain its programming and staff despite the setback. Bangor Daily News
