- ➤ Bangor’s All Souls Congregational Church is renovating its auxiliary wing at 10 Broadway for $3M after membership surged, raising nearly $2.8M since February. Demolition will begin later this month and the new space will open in fall 2027. Bangor Daily News
- ➤ Maine State Police K-9 Preacher, the only Maine dog killed in duty, will be honored in a memorial service at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial on May 11 at 1 p.m.— the event, part of National Police Week, will be livestreamed on the foundation's Facebook page. WABI 5
- ➤ All Souls Congregational Church at Broadway and State Streets is renovating by demolishing the historic Arlan A. Baillie building to make way for a new two-story, energy efficient facility. - ➤ UMaine released renderings of the planned Harold Alfond Athletics Village & campus paths designed to connect athletic venues with new benches, signs and statues that honor Mr. Alfond’s legacy. The privately funded project will refresh campus entrances and renew beloved spaces. Bangor Daily News
- ➤ Stearns Junior-Senior High School in Millinocket held its fourth career fair yesterday, with Maine college and business representatives connecting six local schools' students with career opportunities, and the event featured a traveling Anne Frank exhibit open to the public next week until month's end. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ UMaine researchers near Fort Kent are using a biodegradable pesticide and counting larvae to control spruce budworm, which can damage Maine’s spruce and fir trees. Federal funding ($10 million) secured by Senator Collins on Tuesday will support timely spraying to protect Maine’s forest industry. FOX Bangor

- ➤ UMaine's softball team meets second-seeded Binghamton (the Bearcats) at 1:30 p.m. today at the Pierre and Catherine Softball Complex on campus for the America East Tournament.
