Three Rivers Kiwanis presents the 20th annual Sebec River Canoe and Kayak Race on Saturday, May 9.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at Sebec Reading Room (665 Moulton Hill Road) and the race finishes at Milo’s Veterans Park; fees of $20 for adults and $15 for youth support local programs.

Four local families took over Hermon Mountain this week and plan to keep its family-friendly tradition while adding food offerings, disc golf and a potential comedy show this summer.

They also plan to eventually offer lodging and expand seasonal activities for visitors.
