- ➤ Eastern Maine Community College hosted a free VIN etching event Tuesday in Bangor to help curb catalytic converter thefts that have led to costly replacements. The program (now in its third year) gave automotive students practical experience working with law enforcement. WABI 5

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Maine lawmakers extended the Maine Affordable Housing Income Tax Credit to Dec. 31, 2036 after Gov. Mills approved it last week, helping builders and groups create and preserve affordable units. The measure, which has supported hundreds of units, comes as the state works to ease a housing shortage. Bangor Daily News
- ➤ Maine asked a judge Tuesday to award state ownership of a 1893 shipwreck off Bar Harbor amid disputed salvage rights. The sunken Delhi, loaded with 32,000 granite pavers, remains partially buried and the decision is expected soon + state law declares unclaimed shipwrecks belong to Maine. Bangor Daily News
