- ➤ Country singer Chris Young will perform at the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor on August 22nd — he will be joined by Mitchell Tenpenny and Matt Schuster. Tickets are available this Friday at 10:00am. WABI 5
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The REAL ID deadline is May 7 so residents will need a driver's license or identification card that meets the security standards to fly and enter some federal sites. Maine drivers can check for the state outline with a star—if their license lacks it, they should schedule an appointment at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and bring all required original documents. - ➤ Broadway at I-95 in Bangor was closed Monday night so crews could repair a damaged bridge rail after a crash, city officials said. The closure ran from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. today — drivers were urged to take alternate routes. Bangor Daily News
- ➤ Jena Jones updated the Bangor City Council on the closure of the homeless encampment on Texas Ave, noting that the last occupant moved into housing on April 2—she added that 96 people were processed during the closure but many still lack permanent housing. The equity builder program helps buyers earning up to 80% of the HUD area median income while the housing our workforce program aids essential workers earning up to 120%—allowing eligible participants to get up to $25,000 in assistance with funds available starting April 1.
