- ➤ University of Maine provost Gabriel Paquette visited a Bangor studio Friday to detail how teaching is changing with flexible group work, hands-on experiments, and AI. He explained that these new methods better meet today’s student needs + shift learning in and out of class. FOX Bangor
- ➤ The schooner Harvey Gamage, a training ship built in South Bristol, will visit Bucksport for four days and stop in Bangor, Brewer and Castine between July 29 and Aug. 3 (4PortLoop event) to celebrate Maine’s 250th anniversary and teach sailing skills. Bangor Daily News
- ➤ Bangor High School math team won Tuesday at the Maine State Math Meet in Augusta and clinched both the regular season and tournament championships for the first time in at least 16 years. Extra weekend practices plus free pizza helped boost team collaboration. Bangor Daily News
- ➤ Starting this fall, Maine public schools will ban cellphones and wearable devices during school hours as school boards have until Aug. 1 to set the new rule. The state will supply $350,000 and a model policy (with exceptions for students with individualized plans) to help districts transition. Bangor Daily News
- ➤ Students at Husson University (Cold Case Internship Program) in Bangor are gaining hands-on investigative training by reviewing cold cases for state police and the Attorney General’s Office and will present their findings at the end of each semester. FOX Bangor

- ➤ On Friday, 23 people from 18 countries took the citizenship oath at U.S. District Court in Bangor, with Gov.
