- ➤ Bangor police say distracted driving continues to cause crashes and warn drivers to keep their phones out of reach—over 5,000 Maine crashes were linked to distractions from 2017 to 2021. Sgt. - ➤ Representative Billy Bob Faulkingham from Winter Harbor presented his bill on Monday to cap municipal general assistance reimbursement at 50% of total state funds—he said the measure aims to distribute funds more fairly after Portland received 80.7% between 2019 and 2024 while urging municipalities to seek additional support from local initiatives and nonprofits.
