- ➤ A 760-foot-long mural project will cover the fence in front of the Maine Savings Amphitheater on Main Street in Bangor this summer. Waterfront Concerts and Bangor Beautiful will work with 21 local artists to paint images on the theme of Maine—local artist Jared Goulette will paint a 75-foot section featuring a vintage postcard style message. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police in Bangor were called at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday night to a home on Essex—Church streets and used a drone and tracking dog to search outside—finally locating the missing child just after 7:00, bringing relief to the family. FOX Bangor
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Viola Rand Elementary School in Bradley is planned to close at the end of the school year because the RSU 34 School Board voted to do so owing to low enrollment and a funding gap of 1.4 million dollars—voters will decide at a referendum on May 12th from 3 to 8 p.m. whether the school should close or stay open, with keeping it open set to raise taxes by nearly two dollars to cover more than 300 thousand dollars in costs.
