- ➤ Steven Farren replaced his historic slate roof at his home in the Broadway Historic District with asphalt shingles last week despite having his request denied by both the Historic Preservation Commission and the Board of Appeals. The city sent him a violation notice with a 30-day deadline—Farren said he plans to appeal the notice, arguing the rule makes maintaining historic homes too costly. Bangor Daily News
- ➤ At the Maine Warden Service 145th anniversary awards banquet on March 21, Game Warden Investigator Ethan Buuck of Division B in Sidney was named Maine Game Warden of the Year for 2024 while Sgt. Justin Fowlie was honored as Supervisor of the Year and retired Sgt. Dennis McIntosh received the Legendary Game Warden award—recognizing their dedication in protecting Maine's natural resources.
