- ➤ Three high school students won Grand Award honors at the Maine State Science Fair on March 29—Ryan Werthmann from Falmouth High School for his study of a biomarker for heart attack risk, Zelda Anesko from Brunswick High School for her offshore wind farm computer model, and Sofie Rueter from Bangor High School for enhancing nitrate removal in biosand filters. The winners are now eligible to attend the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in Columbus in May while the fair was held virtually due to an early spring storm. FOX Bangor
- ➤ Junior Achievement of Maine will hold its 19th Annual JA Titan Challenge on April 3 at eight host sites including the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Nearly 300 high school students will run a cell phone company simulation and compete for scholarships donated by Machias Savings Bank while over 100 local mentors support the competition. The County
