  • A year after residents bought Cedar Falls Mobile Home Park on Finson Road, they enhanced the park with a community garden (and a bulletin board and shelter for bus riders) and plan a bottle drive and mobile home expansion to keep rents affordable.  Bangor Daily News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Hank Williams Jr. and Joe Nichols will perform at the Maine Savings Amphitheater on August 1 — ticket sales begin this Friday at 10 a.m. Fans can look forward to a lively summer concert in Bangor.  WABI 5
  • Billy Currington & Kip Moore are set to perform at the Waterfront on Friday, July 24 with Kenny Whitmire also joining; tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m.  WABI 5

HEALTH NEWS

  • Prime Healthcare Foundation, a California nonprofit, is now the owner of Central Maine Healthcare and will invest $150 million over five years to strengthen services (including several hospitals) and infrastructure.  Bangor Daily News
  • Central Maine Healthcare has officially joined Prime Healthcare Foundation, a California charity that plans to invest $150 million to strengthen local facilities. The transition retains current names + local leadership while keeping most jobs intact for ongoing quality care in the area.  WABI 5
  • Health officials confirmed four new measles cases in Penobscot County, all unvaccinated and linked to an earlier case reported this month — no new exposure locations have been found.  WABI 5

  • The Penobscot Valley High School Howlers will face Bangor Christian in today's 11:30 a.m. Class D North Tournament semifinal at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor + they aim to overcome a three-meeting losing streak against their rival.  Bangor Daily News
  • Caribou’s fans filled the Cross Insurance Center Tuesday as the girls and boys basketball teams advanced after winning state titles last season—Corrigan led both teams with standout overtime plays that reinforced the town’s reputation as Maine’s basketball capital.  Bangor Daily News
  • Mason Pelletier scored 34 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and made 7 steals Tuesday for Easton High as they beat Katahdin 72-42 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. The sophomore also had a 42-point game last week to fuel his team’s tournament run.  Bangor Daily News
