  • As frigid weather continues affecting Bangor, local shelters including Brick Church and Mansion Church extend hours to 24 (if conditions worsen) so homeless residents can get warmth and meals.  News Center Maine

  • An analysis found unregulated electricity providers overcharged Maine households $156 million over eight years. Lawmakers on Thursday considered a bill to limit extra fees for low-income customers — a move that may help protect those who need it.  Bangor Daily News

  • On Friday, a work session in Augusta reviewed a bill that would require testing + tracking in Maine’s medical cannabis industry to keep products safe for patients; supporters call it common sense while critics worry about costs for small caregivers, and the proposal was tabled for a later vote.  WABI 5
