- ➤ A therapist from Bangor will open a satellite office at 159 Bennett Drive in Caribou on Jan. 11 to expand behavioral health care for residents, offering sessions in person on Sundays from 9 to 5 and soon accepting MaineCare after a pending inspection. The County
- ➤ Health officials stress that testing for radon is key to avoiding lung cancer this month as a report shows 37% of Maine homes have high levels; the Indoor Air Quality Council will host the Indoor Insanity 5K on Jan. 11 at Colby College to help low-income households mitigate radon risks. - ➤ Maine anglers kicked off New Year's Day ice fishing at local lakes and ponds (like Kennebunk Pond and Moosehead Lake) where families and seasoned fishers caught rainbow trout, northern pike and brook trout in good ice conditions. Bangor Daily News

- ➤ Former UMaine goalie Jeremy Swayman, now with the Boston Bruins, is set to join Team USA at the Winter Olympics in Italy from Feb. 6 – 22, marking the fourth Black Bear goalie on the US roster. He joins fellow netminders Jake Oettinger and Connor Hellebuyck. Bangor Daily News
